LGBTQIA+ rights

If your senator or representative supports LGBTQIA+ rights, and if this is an issue that is important to you, you may want to donate to their campaign, no matter what else you disagree with them about.
Almost all LGBTQIA+ legislation is introduced by Democrats. If a stray Republican happens to cosponsor, I will highlight. Don't expect to see many of those.
There is very little legislation put forward on this topic.
Highlighted legislation has 20+ sponsors/cosponsors.
Proposed legislation:
- August 23, 2025 - October 3, 2025:
- July 18, 2025 - July 25, 2025: Only two pieces of legislation. The first, a Republican bill (H.R.4618), Jamie Reed Protecting Our Kids from Child Abuse Act, relies on debunked claims to prevent gender transition procedures for minors. The second, a Democratic bill (S.2671), Reproductive Rights Are Human Rights Act of 2025, reminds the U.S. Department of State that their annual Human Rights Report must include sections not only on reproductive rights, but also on LGBTQ+ rights. This requirement stems from binding treaties that deem reproductive and LGBTQ+ rights as human rights.
