Labor: Unions, workers' rights, apprenticeships, college NIL, and National Labor Relations Board

"Labor" affects almost every aspect of working Americans' lives, whether blue collar or white collar, whether WFH or in a factory, whether skilled or unskilled. Without legislation to protect those of us who wish to support ourselves and those we love, we are left vulnerable.

Because employers, especially those owned by billionaires, seek to enrich shareholders, not keep workers safe. Much less well-paid.

If your legislator on local, state, or federal level looks out for workers they represent, keep them in office. They are facing an uphill battle. Not many lobbyists on the side of workers.

Note: I include NIL (name-image-license) legislation here, even though it's technically a matter of private industry. The legislation surrounding NIL would likely not be necessary if workers' rights were better protected.

Highlighted legislation has 20+ sponsors/cosponsors.

Proposed legislation:

  • August 23, 2025 - September 19, 2025:
  • July 17, 2025 - August 22, 2025: Stop AI Price Gouging and Wage Fixing Act of 2025 (27 Democrats, no Republicans); Warehouse Worker Protection Act (15 Democrats, 1 Republican). There's good legislation, but little with enough support to make it out of committee.
This is one of Senator John Fetterman's signature causes.
