If your ancestors settled in Texas, you're in luck. Although I now live in Pennsylvania, with the Appalachian Trail a few miles from my home and farmers markets everywhere, I grew up in Houston. My great-grandfather settled in Houston in 1892. But the rest of our family had been in the Lone Star State around fifty years by the time Martin put down roots in the Bayou City.
As I am working on my autobiographical novel, I'm studying the context of my family's lives, whether in Fredericksburg, Llano, Taylor, Elgin, Grapevine, or Houston.
I can do the same for your project. I will send you a questionnaire regarding topics or places or people you wish to have researched. I'll send you a Statement of Work (SOW). Once approved and the first four hours paid, I'll research your topic. After delivery of this preliminary work, you can revise the SOW as desired (either more or less). If you're satisfied, I'll invoice you the remainder for prepayment of half the remaining balance upfront and the remaining half upon delivery.
Minimum: Four hours. Note that this assumes delivery of only "raw documents" in PDF form. If you'd like a summary of the documents or a ghostwritten piece, that will be an extra charge and will be delineated in the SOW.
People: $75/hour. Place $112.50/hour. Event $150/hour.
