Exclamation! Publishers publishes four to eight titles a year. We are interested in historical fiction, straight nonfiction, creative nonfiction (well-documented), and poetry (no erotica).

Note: We will not consider any new queries until March 2008. Too much backlog...

We do not pay any advance royalties. We accept either agented or unagented queries.

along with an SASE for response. Unsolicited manuscripts will be discarded unread, and queries without an SASE will not receive a reply. Do not fax query. However, email queries are permissible as long as the query and writer's qualifications are contained in the body of the email and not included as attachments.

For The History Project, please note your special qualifications (e.g., degree specialization, previous publications, teaching certification) on the subject you propose to write about.
