RIGHTS AND ROYALTIES

Please cut and paste the following text onto your organization's letterhead upon ordering a play from our online catalog, adding information as indicated.  Mail to address below, attn: Denise Heap; or call for fax number.

Script order (except single copy perusal) cannot be processed until form below is received.

We hereby recognize that playwrights and publishers must collect royalties in order to continue creating. Therefore we agree to the following terms and conditions for the production of (NAME OF PLAY TO BE PRESENTED).

We will be presenting this play for a total of ________ performances, as indicated: (Dates of performances). We will be charging $_________ to $_________  per ticket, and our theater seats ___________ people.

We hereby declare that we are a high school / college / university / community theater, and not a professional, for-profit organization. As such, we agree to the flat royalty rate of ___________ for the first night's performance, and _________ for each performance thereafter. These royalties will be remitted to Exclamation! Publishers ~ either online or by check ~ no later than one month before production. We understand that failure to remit royalties timely will result in immediate withdrawal of permission to present the above-referenced play.

We will not give any presentation of the above-named play except as stated above. This includes public readings and excerpts from the play. We understand that if we videotape or record the performance in any manner, we must pay additional royalties to Exclamation! Publishers after first obtaining permission to record the performance. Such recordings will be the subject of a separate letter agreement.

It goes without saying that we will not make unauthorized copies of the script for any reason whatever.

We also agree that we will not make any revisions to the play without prior written consent of Exclamation! Publishers and the author. Revisions include but are not limited to: Changes to text or title of script, changes to gender of characters, and changes to time and setting. Publisher and author will consider each revision request on its own merits, but are not obligated to give a reason for decision.

We will also give proper authorship credit on all advertising (in every form) for the play, as well as in the playbill, program, and related posters. We will provide copies of all print advertising materials, playbills, programs, and related posters to Exclamation! Publishers at no cost to the publisher, along with the URL to any online advertisement for our production.
