DEHeap Enterprises, Inc. continues the venture begun in 2001! We fervently believe in giving back to the community, and in community drawing together to give to our youth.

We have initiated an enterprise with the working title, The History Project. The goal of the project ~ to present history, civics, and international politics to middle school and high school students in a forum that will bring dry dates and divergent cultures to life.

Each project is "stand-alone" and consists of the following elements:

bulletNonfiction texts suitable for classroom use or home schooling;
bulletWorkbooks for the above;
bulletHistorical fiction novel or short story anthology on the topic; and,
bulletA one- or two-hour documentary.

Our authors have agreed to bring their knowledge, expertise, and wit to your classrooms, so your students can "touch" history by means of a live, enthusiastic story-teller.

But we need you for this project to succeed. Still in our infancy, we are looking for:

Good writers with a love of history, civics, or international politics. Not necessary to present published clips for consideration. We are more concerned with ability to write vivid, compelling prose, and commitment to the integrity of sound research.

 

Corporate partners who will underwrite some of the costs to enable us to offer the publication free of charge to public schools. Sponsorships will go to distributing the publication to as many public schools as possible.

 

Business people who will donate face time to take specific projects to the classroom and start some lively dialog.

 

Teachers and department heads who will work with us on concept and offer sound critique for the inaugural issue.
