The White Rose

The definitive documentary. If you have seen the Verhoeven film, you think you know the story. But Ruth has been researching the real story since 1994. It is more gripping than you would dare to believe.

History of the White Rose (non-fiction with workbooks). Release date for  Volume One (January 31, 1933 to April 30, 1942): July 13, 2002 ~ this book is now available online! To order academic version (fully footnoted), click here.

Volume Two (May 1, 1942 through October 12, 1943): Now available for online purchase: Regular and academic editions.

5/30/2002: Two important announcements about these books. First, they have a new subtitle: The Unfinished Story. During Ruth's recent trip to Germany, she learned that the Scholl Archives continue to withhold significant information, and that the Bundesarchiv (National Archives) in Berlin still is under orders to "block" some of the transcripts in their possession. As long as these two conditions exist, research cannot be considered closed. Therefore, Ruth's histories will come with free annual updates that will be mailed to everyone who purchases these volumes ~ regular edition only. Academic updates available for an extra charge.

Second, the Center for White Rose Studies seeks to obtain funding to provide these books (with accompanying workbooks) either free of charge or at a substantial discount to public schools. If you would like to make a tax-deductible contribution towards this effort, please email Ruth for details. If you are a public school teacher (or concerned parent) who would like to be added to the list of schools to receive these books, please email Ruth to receive an application.

Roses at Noon: The Newsletter of the Center for White Rose Studies. Subscription is half-price when you order one of the above history books. Order here!

Please note that pre-paid orders of any White Rose book come with a free subscription to the CWRS newsletter. Effective October 12, 2006, the subscription version of the newsletter differs significantly from its free, online counterpart.

The Novel. The friends come alive in this first-person telling in the voices of Sophie Scholl, Willi Graf, Gisela Schertling, and Wilhelm Geyer. Publication date of first novel in the trilogy is currently unknown (estimated at 7/13/2006); however, use the order page to pre-order. We will reimburse shipping when the first volume of the novel is released.

This project means much to us... Those who pre-order the first volume of this novel are eligible for special rewards and discounts throughout the year.
